Setting Up a Search Term for Monitoring, Booleans & More

Setup a search term that you want to monitor. Click on the Settings or Searches link in your admin panel. Click Edit and it will take you to the searches screen.

We monitor Searches across all the Social Media channels for each search term almost on an hourly basis (except for Twitter, we update it every 15 minutes on the hour) and then summarize the data so you can see what is being said.

We do implement Boolean search such that when submitting search keywords to Actionly, we can exclude certain keywords that are usually associated with the keyword in question to eliminate false results. For example: If you submit the word "Mango" as you want to search for the clothing retailer brand but you might want to exclude all references to the fruit (please see image below).

You can monitor your Brand keywords and Non-Brand keywords like competitor, category or industry terms to see what is being said within your category.

·        Travelling in Tuscany - pulls all tweets, posts, twitter name or url links that may contain Travelling or Tuscany with these words in any order

·        "Travelling in Tuscany" - with quotes, pulls tweets or posts containing the words in exactly that order

·       Travelling or Tuscany - this will contain all tweets with the words Travelling OR Tuscany - not necessarily both

·        Travelling AND Tuscany - similar to the first one as it will show tweets with Travelling and Tuscany - not necessarily in that order

·        Travelling & Tuscany - please don’t use ampersand or other such functions as this will not pull relevant data
